abstract

during isolation of venturia inaequalis (cooke) g. winter from apple leaves and fruits in the laboratory, some fungi appeared as culture contaminants. from these, an isolate was identified as aspergillus medius r. meissn. (teleomorph known as eurotium medium c.f.w. meissn.), based on morphological and molecular data (sequences of its rdna).

Deightoniella arundinacea, new to mycobiota of Iran

During the visits of common reed [Phragmites australis (Cav.) Trin. ex Steud] in different locations of West Azerbaijan province during 2015–16, symptoms of fungal infections was frequently observed. Among the isolated and studied fungi, Deightoniella arundinacea (Corda) S. Hughes was commonly observed. Based on available literatures, this species was found new to mycobiota of Iran.
